The Numbers Accountability Group

This group is for you if:

  • You want to increase your revenue

The Marketing Accountability Group

This group is for you if:

  • You know you should be marketing your business but you aren’t, because you don’t know what to do
  • Or-you do know what to do to market your business, but you aren’t doing it
  • Or-your marketing isn’t working
  • Or-you can’t find marketing that you like doing. In fact, the idea of enjoying your marketing seems crazy and impossible.

The Business Plan Accountability Group

This group is for you if:

  • You want to enjoy your business.
  • You want to figure out how to focus on the parts of your business that you like, and outsource or hire someone to do the things you don’t.
  • You don’t have a business plan
  • You have a business plan but it’s sitting on the shelf gathering dust
  • You spend all your time working IN the business and no time working ON the business
  • You want your revenues to increase
  • You want to stand out in your market
  • You want to have more business than you know what to do with
  • You want to understand who your best customers are, and how to find more of them.

The Numbers Accountability Group

Your business numbers are your report card.
What is your grade?

This group is for you if:

  • You want to increase your revenue

What the group will do:

  • Develop a plan to increase your revenue
  • Learn what your business numbers are telling you, in a group of other business owners experiencing the same challenges

What I provide for the group

  • I will lead you through a step-by-step system to understand your business numbers
  • You will have a focused, one-on-one coaching session with me each month

What is required:

  • Three-month commitment. The group will have one, one-hour call per month together, plus the additional 30-minute individual coaching session.
  • Willingness to disclose your sales/expense numbers to the people in the group.
  • Confidentiality (each participant will sign an agreement to keep confidential all the information we discuss).
  • Investment of $195.00 per month

What really happens in the group

This group started in October 2009 and has renewed their commitment to keep going past the initial time of three months, twice.

We meet once a month together. The participants have all brought their actual business numbers to the group call and discussed them with us. Sometimes the numbers are hard to talk about because they have shrunk from the previous month or year, but we talk about them anyway and get through the feelings. We have learned about how to forecast sales for the coming month, what cash flow is (separate from sales), what our break-even point is for each of our businesses, and we have brainstormed about participants’ specific business problems and what to do about them.

During the time the group has been going, one participant got her newsletter going, another one is now tracking the average dollar amount per job and seeing it go up, and we have all learned about the weird paradox that it is possible to make higher profit on lower sales.

This group is for you if:

  • You know you should be marketing your business but you aren’t, because you don’t know what to do
  • Or-you do know what to do to market your business, but you aren’t doing it
  • Or-your marketing isn’t working
  • Or-you can’t find marketing that you enjoy

What you will learn:

  • How your customers (new and prospective) want you to talk to them
  • What marketing will work for you and your personality
  • How to stick to it

What I provide for the group:

  • I will lead you through a step-by-step process to understand your personality, to understand your customers, and to choose the marketing that will be most effective
  • You will have a focused, one-on-one coaching session with me each month

What really happens in the group:

The last time this group ran, the members actually figured out what marketing they would enjoy doing, and what marketing they would not, based on their personality types. In the face of conventional wisdom that said otherwise, they were willing to focus their efforts doing the marketing they enjoyed, and STOP doing the marketing they didn’t enjoy.

In the course of the group, one member surveyed all her clients and got very enlightening (and encouraging) feedback about her work. Another member began sending out regular email updates to her clients, which required her to research what was going on in the financial markets; research she was already doing and enjoying. We all got clear about what marketing we honestly enjoyed doing, and supported each other in doing it.

What is required:

  • Three-month commitment. We will meet twice a month for one hour as a group, and you will also meet one-on-one with me once a month for 30 minutes
  • Willingness to learn about new kinds of marketing and test them with your clients
  • Willingness to set aside the time to do your marketing
  • Confidentiality (each participant will sign an agreement to keep confidential all the information we discuss).
  • Investment of $295 per month.

The Business Plan Accountability Group

  • You don’t have a business plan
  • You have a business plan but it’s sitting on the shelf gathering dust
  • You spend all your time working IN the business and no time working ON the business
  • You want your revenues to increase

  • How to make your business different from all its competitors
  • How to attract more clients because of that difference
  • The truth about your business numbers: the good, the bad, and the ugly (and also the fun and interesting. Really.)
  • How to position your business as the best solution to your customers’ real problems
  • What your business values are, and how to live by them
  • What the purpose of your business is—and how to express it in everything you do

  • I will lead you through a step-by-step process to create your business plan using the book Passion, Plan, Profit, 12 Simple Steps to Convert Your Passion into a Solid Business (book will be provided as part of the fee)
  • You will have a focused, 30 minute, one-on-one coaching session with me each month
